Ah, Yesterday's Arcade. A secret oasis for neon lights, roller skates, and arcade cabinets. -Kyle Perfect for a megalomaniac like you, you freak -Haley
2.
My dad and I have been sleeping in an office room. We were able to coerce the Council into letting us stay in there. When this get to chaotic in the halls, I've always been allowed to flee here and hide. I'm scared when the Arcadites attack. I'm really weak against them. I wouldn't be able to hold them off if they broke in here. -Jordan
3.
I've tried to count the days we've been stuck here. 2 years, 10 months, 3 weeks, and 5 days. It's been a long time, yeah. -Jordan
4.
I see that there are windows in this... arcade? They're all covered in some dark material. These odd people talk about so many beautiful things. Trees, flowers, lakes, hills, blue skies, animals. All I know is that out there it isn't some evil monarchy I was trying to flee from. I'm too young for war. Why am I still stuck in the middle? It's like another chapter I need to reach the end of. All of the evil the leaders at home did are now bleeding into this other world. I don't want to be blamed for something I didn't cause. Space was running out back at the kingdom, and we couldn't keep out. So, war broke out. I found a way to escape the world that led into the arcade, but this exit was already known, and the soldiers were already invading this place. I just want to be somewhere safe. -Broztas
5.
The clocks are one of the last things left of some normalcy here. At least with it I haven't lost track of time. -Jordan.
6.
Look kid, I understand that all of this is new to you. You don't deserve to be stuck in the middle; no one does. You're still really young, I can tell. I don't expect you to understand everything. We're kind of stuck in this war zone because of the Council. They know the way out, but they won't let us out, the cretins. Don't you worry, however. We will find a way to break out of here. -Haley
7.
A wave of Arcadites attacked again. I tried to hide from them in our office. However, they finally noticed this room existed and they started slamming on the door. They broke into the room and I heard them attack my father. I tried so hard to stay quiet. I tried so hard to not bring attention to myself. They still found me, anyway. I felt one of the Arcadite soldiers pull me up from my shirt. I bet it was like lifting a lightweight dumbbell. They looked kind of draconic to me and was like eight feet tall. They could barely fit in the room. Next thing I know, they're carrying me out of the room. They're bringing me to their home world. The halls are too chaotic for anyone to get to me, but I know people saw them carrying me away. -Jordan
8.
What's the point of rescuing that little one, Haley? Do you not see how we do not have enough space left? You must think of these strategically. Losing a few members frees up space for more to come. After all, stronger people are what we need; not some fath
9.
So, you're willing to sacrifice people over space instead of actually letting us out? I know you know the way to leave. You're just too scared to lose your power. Well, to hell with your semantics! Broztas told me the nightmare of his home world. I'm not letting Jordan suffer from it. My team will rescue him and show you wrong. -Haley.
10.
After breaking through into the other world, we found ourselves in this dark kingdom. We went up to the palace and got interrogated. We demanded Jordan to be returned to us, but they refused to listen to us. So, we asked if we could reach a compromise. They're leader demanded more space, which is exactly what we've been needing. And then I knew what to do. It was time to take down a megalomaniac leader. Get over here, Kyle. -Haley
11.
So, it led to all this. Oliver, Karth, Elise, Qurine, Nadesta and I set fire to the place. The Arcadites supplied us with tools to set the place ablaze, so we brought the flames up to the Council and watched the inferno engulf them. And as the walls started to crumble, we saw freedom from Yesterday's Arcade seeping through the cracks. -Haley
12.
Finally, the doors fell. I get a glimpse of the outside world. I see some strange rocky floors and a field off in the distance, with a few trees growing as well. I followed Karth as we went outside. People flowed out of the arcade as fast as they could. Then, while I'm outside, I start seeing soldiers from my home world also walking out. It scared me, but Karth assured me that everything was going to be okay. I saw that one of the soldiers was carrying a kid I remember seeing around in the arcade. I think his name was Jordan, I'm not sure. How big is this world is what I really want to know. -Broztas
13.
Now, listen, little one. I know this whole thing kind of frightened you, and I don't blame you if you never forgive us. War brings out the worst of people. When needs run low, ugliness comes out. But, this is where we all deserve to be. Stuck in two small worlds is not a way to live. And now that our worlds have opened up to some world that's so much bigger, we can restart now. It might take long for forgiveness to flood in, but time was always what we had. -Iaterik

about

"Look, I know things have been sickly cyclical, Jordan, but you're still young. The Arcadites keep attacking, but we'll figure out how to stop it."

I hear that a lot nowadays. My father, the adults, and the staff always say the same thing in different ways. I've heard it so many times that it's the same buzzing coming from the cabinets. I'm just another kid trapped in Yesterday's Arcade, so what am I to do? We're struggling for supplies whilst were still at war Arcadites from several cabinets. All while this goes on, the Council creeps me out even more. Shouldn't someone have found an exit of this place by now? We can only last so long here, and we haven't really made a lot of friends with Arcadites, only a dozen. It's probably from how small this place is. I'm getting claustrophobic.

I was really young when my dad and I went here. Nothing seemed wrong, but when no one could get out that's when everything clicked. We got trapped here. We couldn't even contact the outside world. Something doesn't seem right at all.

-Jordan Harstet

Why should I ever trust the Council? They are not transparent, when have they ever been? I know they're hiding something. Why would they have made themselves leaders so early in this place? Oliver, Karth, Elise, Qurine, and Nadesta, y'all should know they're holding us in here.Humans and Arcadites alike, we are prisoners here, and the Council is behind it. I'll send you more e-mails of plans we need to enact to break out of this hell.

-Haley Detarin

I don't even know what this place is. Everyone calls it the Yesterday's Arcade, but what even is an arcade? Why do they call me an Arcadite. There's been wars going on in other worlds connected with these cabinets, I guess. I'm still really young, and the people here let me take refuge. Still, they keep fighting the others crawling out of the cabinets. Things are feeling really scarce and I'm not sure how to help. I'm just trying to not die.

-Broztas

We have an amazing, thriving community in Yesterday's Arcade. Every day is different. We all know people are getting closer. So, what about the wars. How is this better than the outside? We know what we're doing. We're just in a wave of resistance. The problems will dent themselves out. After all, just like what we say; Yesterday's Arcade is Tomorrow's Journey.

-Kyle Saxchal

Damn, that was a lot of writing. Entry four acts as a sub-story of Dimension Hoppers. I don't plan to put it in the novel, but I loved the concept of being stuck in an anomalous place that's supposed to be a place you're only supposed to be at for a few hours at max. And an arcade is supposed to be a place of fun. Here, it turns into a prison and a war zone.

Also, I was listening to The Hold Steady while I wrote all of this. I don't know what that says about me, but I slipped in a reference somewhere {:
